I missed the show so I watched the video today. I was very disappointed in Dr Liz Wegstrom, the NPPC vet. I thought she was less than forthcoming in the segment that was shown-and maybe that was the worst part. The NPPC was critical that CBS only showed 2 minutes of an 80 minute interview-if the rest was like what was shown they are probably lucky. It sure didn't leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy. I'm not sure why she was the designated spokesperson. She seemed to me to be uncomfortable talking to Ms Stahl.

I don't understand why the NPPC couldn't come up with at least one of their members that would agree to a visit. I don't understand why the hog farm in Montana wouldn't want to cooperate with authorities to discover where the salmonella was coming from.

And folks wonder why consumers would ever consider meatless alternatives.

I understand that some will feel that they can't win in the world of gotcha journalism but dang we have to try. I would guess that the owners of the contract pigs might forbid any publicity but there are still a few independents left.
