Subject: Commercial sweet corn growers

EC Indiana
I’m a lover of sweet corn and we plant some on our farm, small amount for family and friends. Our local “big box store” has some great looking corn today, brought home and shucked, no ear worms, medium sized “snappy” kernels, well hydrated husks, good looking stuff! My question is about the sweetness or sugar portion that seemed to be missing a touch from our corn we buy and plant from our seed dealer.

Is this because of the location sweetcorn is grown on a commercial scale, harvest ability of the corn through equipment, etc.

I’m glad to have it available so thank you just wondering if there is some type of conflict between growing it commercially and sugar content. Thanks Spence Howard, EC Indiana
