SE MN | Took a small tour through my area this afternoon. I have been of the opinion that the crop here will be very good. It is amazing to me how fast it is deteriorating. Drowned out spots, yellow corn, extremely uneven. Corn on corn is really struggling as opposed to corn on beans. There are some very good looking farms, but again, the large rains are really starting to take a toll.This was a small area but I saw some very good farms run by top notch operations that looked great 2 weeks ago and today they looked rough and are going downhill. Heat will help, but in my experience once it is waist high and yellow it never recovers much as far as yield goes.Just one guy’s observations/opinion. | |
