Subject: Raven autosteer on Apache with JD power unit.

Wondering if I have a plumbing problem or if raven auto steer doesn't
work correctly on my unit. After reading, I see I am not the only one
with hydraulic problems using raven autosteer.

Unit is in a Apache 859 with the John Deere power unit and hydraulic
system. I know the charge/steering pump is getting weak.
The problem is when I engage the smartrax, it loads the hydraulic
system as compared to normal. On a warm day it will trip the
hot oil warning, if I use the autosteer, but not in normal steering.

Tonight I did find an generic install manual for open center system, but
think it is missing the idea that the steering pump is also the charge
pump.
Local dealer doesn't seem to know anything about older Apaches.
Also John Deere power units and 859 seem to be oddball hydraulic
systems as compared to newer and Cummins powered units.

Interest to know whether anyone has using the raven system on older
Apaches with John Deere power unit. attached picture of the pump.

It has run many years like this. It is new to me last year, so not
sure when the raven stuff when into the unit. I am starting to
like autosteer, so would like to get it working correctly. I haven't
talked with Raven or the company that now owns Apache. I think
they have a new office in local city.
