I have 2 teenage sons in my house, so online gaming is a big deal, especially fortnite.  We have been trying to upgrade wifi service so they can play that game.  Had to switch ISP, original could only give us 2 mbs download.  According to players, the game "lagged".  so we switched and now have 15 mbs down.  Now I'm told that the game doesn't lag, but now it freezes frequently.  Other info, playing on xbox1, cabled directly into router.  ISP says we have the package above what thy recommend for gaming, so they say this isn't their problem.  and we've been told that we really need 100 mbs for fortnight, and even if I could afford that level, its not even available.


Looking for any helpful hints.

And I am pretty much a dinosaur with technology.
