Subject: No backyard itis here - west central Illinois crop report

Central Illinois - west of Peoria
Got the dirt bike out today and rode over close to 800 ac. Corn planted last week in April waist tall with 10-20% drowned out . Corn planted mid late May ankle tall with same variability . Corn planted 1st week of June probably best stand but close to 3” this week in rainfall amounts has water still standing in fields. Beans planted in may look good but needing sprayed , beans planted in June vary from ve to v2 to still emerging . ( we still have beans to plant and if it dries up we will spot in ponds that got flooded out). Don’t have one field that hasn’t got ponds or drown out spots from flooding . Total disaster- no , but way below average yields from lost acres due to water and N Loss. This ground lies western Peoria , eastern Fulton county I’ll.
The guys in Indiana and Ohio have my sympathy. Tough year for all.
