Subject: Case 4420 boom cylinders

Boone, Iowa
I was greasing the 100’ boom on my Case 4420. I noticed the shaft on the front boom cylinder, between the center mast and main boom was bent. The parts website shows I need an 87272676 front cylinder, which subs to 84188920. I picked up the new $780 cylinder and set it next to the old cylinder that I removed. There is about an once difference. I got to looking at all the cylinders and they have the same $440 #87266460 rear cylinder. The 87266460 has a 549.4mm stroke and the new 84188920 cylinder has a 525.53mm stroke. Did someone replace both front cylinders at one time an put on the cheaper rear cylinders?
