Subject: Corn market at risk of misunderstanding....

southcentral Minnesota

After I read the article I decided to look at the only cornbelt state that had a conditions report this week, Iowa.

Then I decided to compare it to last year at the same time period.

And to last years first conditions report, only a week earlier

I also looked at how Minnesota was doing. hint, we finish with a 182 crop after doing 194 the year before but we had big numbers for the condition report. Locally this wet is maybe a bit worse to deal with than last year for us locally and it was the southern tier counties that knock our state yield down.

Are we looking at exceptional yields this year? My little area was in the less than stellar area of southern Mn but it was far wetter to the west of me.

New year, same old crap for some of us but new experience for a lot of you kids it seems. Been at for over forty years, still here but with a few less marbles.
