Rupert, Idaho | We need to change the oil seal in the bottom of the gear box on a 717 rotary cutter.
We need to get the blade arm off of the shaft in order to change the seal. So far we have tried two different pullers along with heating it with the torch, but haven't gotten it to move yet.
I am wondering if it is possible to take the nut off the top end of the shaft and let the whole shaft/blade arm assembly drop down and then get it in the hydraulic press.
This mower is over 30 years old and as far as I know the blade arm has never been removed. | |
