Subject: Feeder lambs

I’m buying some lambs around 50 pounds from a neighbor. I have an 18% grower and plenty of grass hay. This is my first time ever having lambs...I’ve seen a lot about only feeding a couple pounds twice a day and some about being on full feed and not sure what to do.

These are 1/2 montedale and 1/2 Southdown and will only have ten. I’ve got planned they’ll gain about 1/2 pound a day and finish around 120 pounds. So if I want to put on 70 pounds will take about 140 days.

Most are sold for privately for freezers and a couple I am keeping for my freezer.

What does anyone recommend? Do these numbers seem accurate?

Thanks
