Mid MO | Or not to graze, that is the question?
Have 4-5 cwt calves. Need to move them off the orchard grass with clover they've been on. (Very little clover, mostly orchard grass.) Plan was to run them on oats/red clover, rotationally. Well, kinda nervous about bloat. Can turn them in late in the afternoon, but have no dry hay. Could let them graze a couple hours and them pull them, but the adjacent pastures are on the short side already. IF I had to, I could drop this from the rotation and put it off 10 days. Forecast is for warm and wet, fwiw. There are oats in the clover, some cheat, and winter annuals. Was hoping for a stronger showing of oats. Planted 50#/ac
Suggestions?
