| "Car 10, Red route, Day 2 totals 60-75 days before harvest. Average calc bpa 34.9 vs Last year Red route day 2 of 35.8"
but but but...
I thought this was gonna be a BIN BUSTER?!?
"Lots of yellow nitrogen deficient looking wheat.." We needed rainfall for nitrogen penetration into root zone."
from my agronomist report today.
"Wheat is still pale/deficient and uneven. Quite short.. some starting to head out.. some a week away. Soil profile remains quite dry yet despite this weeks showers. Much more moisture needed for heading as well as pollination. Yield potential seems limited vs expectations for the year."
The funds are short.. gonna get interesting now.
Remember that 2018 we FINISHED strong with rains through the finish line..
The Real impediment to a Big Crop is gonna be the acreage.. it would not surprise me to see harvested acreage fall below 7 million.. EVEN IF we bust 40 bu yields.. that's still only a 280 million bu crop.. not much more than last year's 277.
And to boot they are calling for freeze warnings tonight in NW Kansas.
One Twitter post showed a 35 bu difference on fields right across the road from one another due to planting date. On time was pushing 65 calculated.. late one "maybe 30."
