West Chazy, New York | I asked for advice in January about a Bobcat that was leaking down under load. The spool valve was listed as NLA, and no substitutions. I tried to find a used valve, but they seem to be pretty rare, probably in part because there were several serial breaks, so the number of any particular configuration isn't that great. Plow79 suggested a double pilot lockout valve. I had never heard of one before, but found a cross section diagram of how it worked, and it seemed like it would do what I needed. I don't have much of a place to work on anything set up yet, so waited until we finally got a decent day to work in an unheated building and installed it. It didn't take that long, and part of the time was a trip to get two shorter hoses made since there wasn't room for the originals. It fits under the boom frame, doesn't seem to present any danger of catching on anything, and the bucket is rock steady with a heavy load on it. I'm real pleased with how it turned out.
