Amherst WI | I’d like to hear what other pea growers are using for a fertilizer program.
I grow canning peas when I can get a contract. Best yields I ever grew was when I gave up on the crop because it was planted late and I didn’t think it would amount to much. That year I just did some 9-23-30 and 32% and ATS through the irrigation system. Apparently it was the best peas the canner had that year.
But I’ve also thrown the kitchen sink at them. Pell Lime and 300# of 10-15-20 with a micro pack followed by calcium plus nitrogen product (which is 32% mixed with calcium and potash) through the system at flower but this program is pretty expensive and there seems to be no gaurantee on yield.
Just wondering what others do in other areas? | |
