Subject: Plumbing a flow control valve for PTO pump on CIH 900 planter

north central kansas
I am adding a 1000 rpm pto pump for the hydraulic blower motor instead of direct connection to tractor hydraulics. Just got a pump from a fellow NAT that came off a 8 row semi - mount and mine is an 8 row trailing that we bought last year and are trying to do some upgrades. My planter has the oil cooler mounted but the lines are capped an unused now as the hoses were hooked direct to the blower motor. Looks like I will need to add a flow control valve somewhere. Am I thinking correctly to add a adjustable flow control with Relief Valve similar to what is offered from Surplus Center? I would plumb the bypass on the return line to the pump. Am I missing anything else?

Thanks in advance,

Rici
