People were talking about $80K to rebuild one of these and waiting 3 months for the parts, etc, etc. After the thread had mostly died I asked how one can reconcile those stories with the image below. Not much response other than another poster looking prices up an CNH parts and finding costs mush less than $80K there as well.
Anyway, is the engine below unable to be used in a Case combine or a Steiger for some reason? If it can be why in the world would you spend $80K on a rebuild when you can buy this new one for $31K and then get a core refund of $5K?
