| Wanting to plant a cereal this spring for forage. May graze some, but mainly round bale. So far it looks like my options are oats and spring barley. Questions are how do they compare in emergence and early growth, forage yield, and quality ( mainly protein). SW KS some irrigated, some dryland. Salinity issues on the Irrigated. I have heard of spring triticale, but do not have a seed source. Any other options worth looking at? TIA | |
