SE South Dakota | Recently bought a group of bred cows at the sale barn, due to calve March 20. This morning one aborted a calf. She is a nice looking 5 year old, I would like to adopt a calf over to her but we don’t calve until March so I would need to buy a calf. Is it worth the risk of potentially bringing disease in? I’m not going to get a calf from a dairy operation as I’ve heard horror stories of introducing crypto, but bringing a new calf in has me a little nervous. Any advice is appreciated, thanks. | |
