Subject: What’s safest economical ration?

ND
We raise about 140 calves and background about 90 days. Calve April and May wean 1st week November. Raise pure alfalfa, some prairie hay, forage barley, and corn silage. Been feeding corn screenings and wheat/pigeon grass screenings too. Have a nutritionist and everything gets tested. Shot program could be improved but had a few bloaters. I was googling rations and seen one for 660 weights I believe was 7 lbs alfalfa and 31 lbs silage plus mineral pack. I thought that sounded pretty promising. I’d like to get away from so much grain. I have no problem raising anything cost efficient which I can feed safely here in North Dakota. Was gonna present this question to nutritionist also but thought I’d come in with few ideas. Any recipes you all swear by? Tia
