Subject: Keeton seed firmers

WC Mn/Dakotas
Now that the new no stick keeton is available for 2019, guys are considering them again. Our conditions are wet sticky cold soils that occasionally still have trouble closing the furrow even with Deltaforce. Sometimes the soil is just too wet and the Deltaforce setting is too high for a few feet compacting the sidewall so much that both sides dont get moved all the way back together at the bottom. Occasional air gaps. Seeds always have enough moisture to sprout, but if there is a missing plant, its found in an air gap just under the surface.

Assuming the keeton will push the seed down in the base of trench and get good seed to soil, will this be enough to get the plant to survive an air gap?
