Farmington, Mo | ...are finished under roof?
Hogs have been there for some time for the most part. Still have some holdouts and the small niche market grass fed types. Dairy is mostly there or at least has the ability to put under roof for a short period of time.
We feed the calves we raise in a small confinement lot with a barn but not completely covered. Someone on Market Talk mentioned the cattle market being in a weather market which I presume refers to lower gains in inclement weather from cattle on the plains in open dirt lots.
Does anyone think it’ll ever move to 90-100% of cattle feeding capacity under roof? Will it be feed efficiency that pushes people that direction or will it be top down government nutrient runoff regulations?
