Subject: Cleaning grain

Sunburst Montana

We've always wanted to clean our own seed and crops forever so we bought this Almaz cleaner this winter after doing a little research.  You basically get just the box and its up to you to customize it.  So we mounted it on a Brandt auger running gear, mounted some spouts on it that we got out of our old elevator, and welded some jacks on it to level it.  This is our first run and we are cleaning lentils.  Its still work in progress learning to adjust it and doing a few more modifications to it.  Our lentil crop was very poor and full of Russian thistle.  We were going to either have the local seed plant clean it and they charge $1.50 per bushel or the buyer was going to clean it and dock us accordingly.  We figure this cleaner is already going to save us $4-5,000 just on this job.  With what seed plants around here charge for seed and/or cleaning this thing should pay for itself in time.
