Subject: First Post JD 7100 Planters, and more questions

First post here, but have read a lot of posts over the years. I am not a big time grain farmer by any stretch or really what I call a farmer. I do have about 1,000 acres in Ohio and been growing corn, beans, hay, alfalfa and other small volume crops for about 18 years. I plant a lot of small bottom land fields in corn and beans. For the small fields, I built a 3pt hitch five row planter out of JD Flex 77 units. If works well, no complaints. I am wondering if any of these JD7000 or JD7001 (originally 3pt) planters that are now set up as three point untis can actually plant as a no till planter.

I see a lot that have the coulters, HD Springs and some advertised with hydraulics (havenlt seen one yet). My question is do you think it is possible to have a 4 row no till planter that is a 3pt unit that will actually plant without working the ground. If so it would save me a lot of time on the smaller fields.

I will also add that I like to plant on about 22-24 inch rows.

Has anyone seen 3pt planters built with splitters for beans?
