northeast ohio | We have an FM1000 RTK, EZGuide 500 RTK unlocked and a CFX750 WAAS with VRT unlock. Would like to have everything running on RTK, but have a few questions about 500 and 750 units.
The FM1000 is OMNI, RTK and GNSS unlocked. Running on ODOT CORS via SD1000 Bluetooth through a Samsung tablet on Verizon. Picks up 14+ satalites while operating.
The EZGuide 500 RTK is running with an AG25 antenna with the same BT and tablet. Most of the time it picks up just 7 to 9 satalites. My question is .. how different is the RTK accuracy between the FM1000 and EZGuide? If accuracy is very different because of the satalites numbers, then would running a 3 month Omnistar subscription during peak use be a way to increase the satalites available?
The CFX750 WAAS will require both the OMNI and RTK unlocks at $4000+ along with a GNSS unlock. Last week there was a CFX750 listed on AgTalk which was RTK unlocked but not OMNI or GNSS. Is it possible to unlock RTK without OMNI? Or unlock RTK and subscribe to RangePoint RTX at $350 annually to receive OMNI / GNSS satalite access? Regardless, we are probably better off finding a used CFX750 RTK or upgrading to an unlocked new display, but decided to ask on AgTalk first.
