Subject: Irrigating Soybeans

Seems like watering soubeans is a mystery for us. The drouthy acres beneath the pivot seem to benefit compared to similar dirt outside of pivot. However on the better dirt it seems almost opposite. We've tried to apply about an inch per week unless we had rain. Seemed this is necessary to keep sandy spots alive. Thinking next summer we might let them
Suffer more and maybe not spoil the good ground as much? Just trying to improve water efficiency and yields. Anybody else seen this and improved their situation? What did you do? Central Missouri.
