Subject: Update to my Dodge karma thread. Oh, we got it fixed........

Pierce county WI
So the reason my 2016 Laramie longhorn Cummins had to leave me stranded in the twin cities Saturday night was a simple fix. It needed a software update! Nothing mechanically wrong, just needed the latest update. So had it happened any other time, I don't drive really long distances that often, so 150 miles to get it done wouldn't have been a big deal. On a Saturday night 200 miles from home, it sucked. So I traded it. I had been talking to my wife for the last year about getting rid of it. It's too fancy. So it's a lot of money for something that doesn't get used that much. We talked about trading for a new cloth interior Dodge or Ford, but I kinda wasn't that excited about that either. I actually missed my 08 Cummins. I love that quad cab body style, and that was a great pickup. So I keep an eye on car guru's and Craigslist for nice 07-09 Cummins. So then the new truck breaks down and I told my wife, that's it, why spend that much money on a new truck that isn't any more reliable than an older one. I thought I could get an early 6.7 and just delete it, or maybe find an early 07 with a late 5.9. So I've had my eye on a couple trucks, and I decided to go look at an 07 a Dodge dealer had that I had seen. I asked him if they would be interested in trading down from my 2016? I asked if that 07 was a five nine. He said I think it's a 6.7. I said that's OK, I'll come look. He said we also have a one ton 07 too that they just took in. I always just search 3/4s. So I looked at the 3/4 ton, and it was a 6.7 SLT, and it was a little rusty. It was ok, but not a show stopper. I asked about the 07 1 ton. They said they just got done running it through the shop, and they serviced everything including trans flush and filter. And put new brakes in. It was just out on test drive. I asked what engine? He said I think it's a.6.7. I could hear it wasn't a 6.7. looked underneath, no dpf....... Popped the hood, yes, that's a 5.9. I wanted it. The interior is a Laramie, so it's leather, and it's perfect. It has a b & w ball in it too. The rest of the truck is clean and unbelievably nice. I figured I could sell my truck outright for maybe $51k and they gave me $49k trade, so with the savings in sales tax it means I got about $50500. I probably paid enough for the 07, but it's so sharp. Def problems fixed! I'll put in a picture of my 08 too.
