SE ND | Had a field of corn on corn where one variety got goss wilt terrible, it was pretty much a disaster, but the varieties on either side of it were just fine (40bu better). This particular ground just doesn’t fit soybeans or other cereals that well and I’d really like to keep corn on it. Am I asking for another disaster? If I put a hybrid with strong goss rating on it will I be ok? I don’t have a lot of experience with goss but from what I’ve been told it’s mainly a variety issue but it will over winter in the trash. The field was worked with a disc ripper but it’s not black by any means, still a lot of trash at surface. Thoughts??
