Middlesex County, Ontario | If I wanted to steer a tractor for a home project, what would I need to do?
Is it as simple as:
- Connect a solenoid valve to the hydraulic system. Could be tied into power beyond, or for testing it could be as simple as plugging it into a remote and setting the remote to constant.
- Tee the solenoid valve into the steering cylinder.
Or would that backfeed into the steering valve? Are the pressures different? I understand the remote hydraulics would always be in high pressure standby. I think what I described is more or less how a trimble valve is installed.
I want this to be easily removable without modifying too many existing things. My plan is to add quick connects to the steering cylinder, and to supply the solenoid valve with hydraulic power through a remote. I could easily unplug everything and remove it from or move it between tractors this way.
Could be a cool system for someone that has a bagger, you could steer the tractor from ground level, or even remotely. That's not my end use case. |
