Subject: How to charge for fabrication?

SW MINNESOTA
Got a call today for one of my manure pumping customers wondering if we would be interested in building replacement gating for his barns this winter. I have done our own barns so know what it involves. Question is what's the best way to charge for something like this. Steel cost plus labor? What's fair shop labor rate? Will be using bandsaw, drill press, plasma cutter and welder along with smaller tools. Or figure out cost per piece plus a margin and charge by the item? This could be a fairly large project but would fit in nice in off season. Any input would be great! Thanks
