mid Illinois | Today, I got around to trying to put new piston cooling nozzles in my 855 Cummins. I could turn it easy enough, but had difficult time getting it to come out. Worked, and worked, pryed and pryed, got it out about 1/8", before finally breaking it off at the oring groove. Screwed a screw in the hole, drove it back some, got oring out, but had to work, and work with a little file, cleaning the rust out, before finally being able to pull it out. How in world did others get them aggravating things out? I was tempted to just drive it into the block, and leave it in the oil pan. Bad idea? Or forget about the other 5, and drive on. Engine is only 23 years old. Ought to be good for another 23? Lol. Any suggestions are appreciated. | |
