N FLA | I get a kick out of these two. I was looking at the pictures from the University of Florida Dairy Farm and sure enough they tag them just like this. So I think I found their source. The black one is the best. When you drive in she runs behind the truck rubbing her head on the bumper or tailgate as you drive. I'm sure grad students baby these things down there.
Tc806 showed pics of his brindle cow and she looked just like this. These were not preg checked at the sale barn in January and I will check them in a few weeks. I was curious what is standard procedure at a dairy for rebreeding and the lactation cycle. They had big full udders when I bought, so I'm guessing their milk was tapering off and they sold. Would a cow have normally been bred at the dairy prior to culling out? Obviously this is a unique situation. But what would be standard for a dairy rebreeding schedule.
I'll call down there and see if they have any records on these.
