Subject: Does ash (fireplace ash) have any fertilizer value?

Missouri
Odd question, I know, right?

I have a few barrels of ash from my fireplace/wood stove from the last few years. I've been wondering if it likely has any nutrient value. I can dispose of it by dumping it out at the farm, or in a dumpster, or if there's any possibility it's at all beneficial, I could spread it on my yard.

Anyone know if it would in fact be beneficial, or detrimental, for that matter?
