with VRT planting becoming more popular, have any companies or universities done any variable hybrid studies on farms based on soil types? 
just an idea... you could integrate both variable rate as well as variable hybrid. plant a more race horse type hybrid at slightly higher populationson the better black ground and a more work horse type hybrid at lower populations on roughwr ground.
