Subject: beans after alfalfa

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
Has anyone raised beans after alfalfa? My preference would be corn but unless we start getting some moisture it's going to be too dry for corn unless our water allocation is better than I expect. Right now it looks like 9" is all we will be able to apply. If that is the cap and it is dry corn will not work. I'm sure there is no subsoil moisture at this time.
I should add this is a 15 year old stand of afalfa that is non roundup ready.
