Subject: Surface applied starter?

SC Kansas
I'm tired of getting starter fertilizer all over the planter in a 2X2 situation, it's usually worst in double crop where we are putting on more gallons with the planter and the ground is harder. How many people dribble their starter behind the closing wheels? It would generally be 10-34, thiosul, and 32%, 10-15 gallons. I know I've heard that if you are applying the same or more N than P or K that it will help pull it into the soil. Any thoughts?
