North West Missouri | Been reading this site for several months but first time Ive posted so bear with me . Im strictly a cow-calf guy but have come to the coclusion after this last summer Its time to do something different for hay. Just baling grass hay and getting 2-3 sometimes 4 bales to the acre aint cutting it! This fall I turbo-tilled (borrowed from my dad) some grass hay ground and some crp and then broadcast with fertilizer some cereal rye on about a 100 acres. My plan is to wet bale it next spring and follow with no-till beans that Ill also wet bale. Soooo- finally to the question I have about another 60 acres of crp that I could put into production but as late in the year as it is now I was thinking about no-tilling oats, wet baling and then following with beans , sudan or something else Ican bale. Anyone have any expierence with no tilling oats. Anything special you needto do for success other than pray for rain. | |
