Subject: 2500 CIH ripper points

WCNY
Converted to John Deere shanks recently for there shin protector and choice of points, tried the 2 inch point. they work well, seemed to lift good between shanks in harder areas and they leave the surface a little more ridged than the CIH no till winged point but not bad. My question is should I be using the winged points available from John Deere and what is the advantage of them. Is someone running these other points. I am concerned with the winged points making a horizontal layer and blowing out to much soil. Going to be running a Krause excelerator to finish in the spring and do not want big ridges.
TIA
