Subject: Gudiance system?? planting 8 harvesting 6

Chillicothe, Missouri
I am strongly considering planting corn on a few of our farms, pushin' 25 yrs since we had some.

I was wondering if a light bar and a mapping screen would be of great use for keeping the rows close enough to run 6 rows continously??

I do not have any experiance with GPS systems, Was considering getting one for preplant spraying.
Wound the currently free GPS be accurate enough with markers?
Or would a Higher level of GPS with a referance point be needed?
One friend thought that a Simple light bar would not be accurate and helpful, would this be the truth?

Was wondering how exact planting would Have to be, as I believe the twin row planters, (one row alternates seed 8 inches); Still use a standard Corn head with the rows being split... is this how things are done??
