Grays Creek, NC | We recently bought a 2188 Combine, and the only complaint we have with it is that it didnt come with a straw chopper. I saw a kit that Shoup sells to add one, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this kit. It drives a little different than the factory ones do, the 3 groove pulley is replaced by a 4 groove and the 4th groove drives the chopper. I also found a kit that is 1000 bucks more, but it drives like the factory ones do, by putting a gearbox between the 3 groove pulley and the rotor drive pulley. I can see advantages and disadvantages either way, but would like to have some opinions from farmers with experience. Thanks in advance! | |
