Subject: 9600 cleaning fan airflow

Blue Grass (Eastern IA)

I have a 1993 jd9600.  It has small expanded metal screens on the sides of the cleaning fan.  They are always full of leaves when combining corn.  This seems to limit airflow, I have never been happy with the sample in corn.  The later combines have more shielding to help get cleaner air.  The salvage yards are extremely proud of the shields.  Is there anything I can do to improve airflow and not break the bank?
