Subject: Weather Dependent N Application?

NW KY
We always apply 100% of our N preplant as NH3, a little experimenting with liquid starter but nothing much.

I was wondering if anyone has tailored their nitrogen application later in the growing season, depending upon weather and growing conditions?

If you have experienced favorable growing conditions and timely rain, have you ever went back and applied more N later to (hopefully) see an increase in yield?
Got a lucky rain here the other day and this just crossed my mind...
