near dyersville iowa | How would you go about trying to figure out the best plant population for your farm? I farm some fairly heavy clay ground, 70 csr. Are there any guides or is it all trial and error? Ive never seemed to be able to go much over 30k, but most are doing it around me now(I havent tried to up population for the last couple years) Although, to be fair, i was lacking slightly in n when I pushed populations(I need to be able to sidedress more i think). Just wondering if there are any rules of thumb or actual scientific studies that could be looked at to get a ballpark number? | |
