Subject: Would you rent a 10 acre pasture?

Roaming the plains

I am stuck in suburbia but am looking at some ways out.  I grew up in the country, make my living in ag, and have lived in the country in the past.  I am wanting to get away from the citiots.

I am looking at some ground and want to buy it now, pay it off over 5 years or so and then build a house.

How many folks would rent 10-20 acres of pasture to run cows or to hay?  I know that it's not much ground but is it worth the hassle for guys running cows or putting up bales?

I don't want to let the ground sit idle and want to make a little off of it to help pay the note. I could probably rent it for horses but cattlemen and hay guys know how to maintain the pasture.

The piece that I am most interested in is 10 acres surrounded by a 5 strand fence, and includes a small pond.

Advice is appreciated.
