Subject: Are new hanging LP furnances any more efficient than older units?

NE ND
I am converting an older insulated potato shed into a shop and plan to hang a propane fired furnance from the ceiling. A new Modine is about $1200 for the BTUs I need. Furnance man measured building and said I need 175,000 BTU with a power vent. I put an ad in the paper and a guy called with a 14 yr old Reznor that is 165,000 BTU and he feels has maybe only burnt 1000 gallons of propane in its life, according to him like new.

Would you buy a like new older unit if you could get it for 500 bucks or less or spend 1200 on a new unit? Will a new unit burn more efficient?
