southern MN | I put up a temp barbed electric wire around a cornstalk field every fall, until spring. About 40 acres.
I have an old check row wire winder that bolts onto the H, drive around follow the wire & it winds it up with the pto & a friction brake, or unrolls it where I drive.
It's gotten old on an old tractor, and one of the cast flatchain sprokets wore out.
Looking at new hyd ones, almost bought one from Runnings, but then I see you are supposed to park the tractor and let the winder pull the wire through the field.
HUH? Barbed wire pulled through grass & stalk debris? No way, is _that_ really how the modern wire winders work?
I'd be happy to find one that I can drive around follow the wire, or I'd be happy to find a sprocket for my old checkrow wire winder....
Any ideas?
