Subject: heifer with fluid between udder and navel

WCIN
I have a heifer that calved tuesday morning without help. It didnt appear to be a hard labor since the calf was pretty small and was clean, up and sucking by itself two hrs after i shut her in the barn. She mommy's her calf fine and doesnt appear to be in any discomfort. She has what looks to be a decent sized fluid deposit between her udder and navel. She doesnt bulk when the calve head butts it like it hurts her in any way. I kinda thought that since it was her first calf/first bag that she was just retaining some extra fluid and it would go away in a couple days after she downloaded. What gives? It almost looks like a rupture of some kind. Anybody had something like this before? tia
