When I was feeding this afternoon I went by a watering trough that had ice on the top except where the cows had a hole broken out and heard a noise. I looked over in it and there was a squirrel swimming around. I got a plank and he could barely grab on to it and I pulled him out and when he hit the ground you could tell he was about done. I think he went into shock so I put him in some bermuda grass hay and covered him up then put a heat bulb on him. He kind of acted like he would make it but he died in about 2 hours. I bet he had been swimming most of the day and looked good while he was in the water. He was a fighter and wanted him to make it. |
