Subject: 08 Beans

Macon, IL
Heard a market analyst from ADM speak on Monday. His "play of the day" was Nov 08 beans, his thought was that after the March acreage report or at least by next summer we could see $8-$10 08 beans. He said that advice was worth the price of admission to the event...which was free. :)

But it did get me thinking. Being 100% corn this year if beans would hit those levels I would seriously consider selling a lot of 08 beans now and going 100% beans next year. Even if corn does stay at $4 I with the incredibly low input costs that would come with 100% beans vs corn on corn costs and relatively safely locking in $350-$500 gross income per acre even at 40bushel beans (well below our average) I would have to give it some serious consideration.
