What is the best method to determine if Omnistar is unlocked?

 I can select Omnistar but only VBS appears as an option.  What the heck is VBS?

I want to use HP/XP even if I can’t remember which one is which.  Trimble/Omnistar website is pure garbage.  Tech support was no help after many attempts to get through on the phone.

Is the goal to make Omnistar subs so expensive and cumbersome that everyone has to upgrade to their own RTK networks?
