Tamworth NSW Australia | Its been a while since I posted any pics from this part of the world so some from the last few months. Its been a very wet year, so far 36 inches, normally a 24-26" average. Grass growth was slow with the cold wet winter, but when spring hit it got out of control quickly and cattle piled on the weight. Its been easy to fatten them on forage this year. I have to be careful where I leave the 4 wheeler, too easy to lose it in the grass. I had a slight colour change last year, needed a new heifer bull and had to get an Angus. Not many Murray Grey bulls around so a good MG heifer bull was too expensive. Plenty of black bulls around so easy to get an easy calving one at the right price. I use the heifer bull as a terminal sire so no issue, my main bull is still a Murray grey and he will sire the replacement heifers. Interesting to see how the AngusxMG calves will go.
Pics 1-5. Mature cows with Murray grey calves. 6-11 First calvers and heifers with Angus x MG calves. 12-15 Yearlings fattening on oats. 16 Friendly snake checking out the tyres. 17 Grass is a bit tall.
